Fugard is known for his political plays that opposed the system of apartheid — particularly Sizwe Banzi Is Dead — a play written collaboratively with two South African actors, John Kani and Winston Ntshona, both of whom appeared in the original production. Part of a series of unedited interviews with South African (and some American) writers, journalists and activists made in the late ‘80s, discussing the subject of censorship, films, journalism and more.
