The essence of the great soul that is Sobukwe lay in his deep sense of humanity, integrity and courage. This film takes us through his life journey from childhood, to being prisoner number ONE on Robben Island to his death and is his incredible human spirit – how he defined an era, refined an ethos – Pan-Africanism, gave rise to Black Consciousness and returned dignity to black people.
