Unedited interview with John Marshall, an American anthropologist and acclaimed documentary filmmaker. In this interview, Marshall talks about the appalling methods that white, immigrant farmers treated the San peoples of southern Africa (and laws which enabled them to do so) during the early and mid 20th century; the Juǀʼhoansi of the San peoples (of whom he recorded the lives of in the 1950s) and Jamie Uys' controversial comedy The Gods Must Be Crazy. Part of a series of unedited interviews with South African (and some American) writers, journalists and activists made in the late ‘80s, discussing the subject of censorship, films, journalism and more.
